Klapster
Klapster is a folding staircase whose steps can be swivelled by 90°. This means that when not in use, the stairs can be folded into a flat surface against the wall in one easy movement to extend the living space.

Concept
In times of housing crisis and increasing property prices, efficient use of space is crucial. The aim of the project was to develop a staircase that only takes up space when you need it.
The product was designed in a modular way to simplify production and maximise usability.
The components of the staircase were designed in different slopes, so that the individually required staircase can always be put together to match the floor height, without having to rely on individual production. Thanks to the design as a DIY kit, the staircase can be assembled quickly and easily by the end user. The modular principle also enables fast and cost-effective shipping.
